...to those kind souls who stop by this claptrap crazy quilt of visuals on any regular basis, you have noticed my absence over the past weeks. It is explained by the fact that one of our English bulldogs, Lola was diagnosed with lung cancer two months ago. Lola and her brother and litter mate Rocky came to us via California Bulldog Rescue just over two years ago. They are our third generation of bulldogs and as people have addictions to many things, one of our big addictions are English bulldogs. While Rocky is the eternal hyper-active three year old boy, Lola was smooth as silk in all regards and and as her Uncle Bob said so well, she was pure love. Lola bravely went through two rounds of chemo this past month and after a few days bounced back each time. This week the wheels started falling off her bus though and it was traveling at very fast speeds. Yesterday morning, Lola's friend and beloved doctor  came to her adored home and set her free to fly with her G'ma Nancy and the angels...we see her frolicking in green meadows and sitting around comparing  war wounds with my mom who passed six months ago. There are no words for me to express the love she brought to us as it was all encompassing and will be treasured for the rest of my days. So, to those of you who have inquired as to my missing in action, thank you for your thoughts and hope by way of possibly too much information that this explains our situation. I can only ask that you hold a kind thought or prayer for our Miss Lola, queen of all things in our opinion, and take some of that beautiful internal love that Lola was all about and send it out into your world of partners, friends and complete strangers...that's what Miss Lola was all about and the way she would like to be remembered. Our babygirl has moved on but her love is eternal and divine and I wish for all of you your own personal version of Lola's love. Its heavenly. All possible best and as always, your pal in all things visual,xo, Craig, Michael and Rocky.

My deepest sympathies for your loss. Pure love is an apt description for the loyalty of these canine friends...loving and wanting so much to please. Sending you (and the world) good thoughts.

Dear Craig, Sorry for your loss. It becomes so easy to get dearly attached to animals that become a part of one's "family", they are family. I've enjoyed your blog for at least a couple years; Thank you for sharing some of your personal self, along with your personal style. Aloha mau. Brian

They come into our lives and creep into our hearts and never leave. How lucky she was to have had you in her life. May the wonderful memories bring much joy in the future.
[You and your amazing blog were missed.]

Although there is nothing that can truly take away any pain that you have, the most impotant part is to remember the fun you and laughter you had with Lola. Back in June my beloved Bernese Mountain Dog passed away so I understand what you are experiencing. Stay strong, it takes some time.

Take the days as they come. I recall how heartbroken we were. The apartment was very quiet after Matilda was gone.
