Ah, the macaron. Well, I finally found one and ate it. Texturally it was very good: the outer shell shattered like eggshell at the first bite, and the interior was soft and slightly chewy. I have to say that the taste was disappointing. Far too much sugar, and not much appreciable raspberry flavor. I was hoping for something far less sweet and with intense real fruit flavor. Ah well, perhaps it was just the bakery...or are they all like that?
