...back in the day, the mid seventies to be exact, no matter how late you stayed out Friday night, come Saturday morning you were up regardless of condition so you could tune in to the one and only Soul Train with Don Cornielus to see the kids, the clothes and the dances of a generation that gave it all they had to entertain and be entertained...there is only one word to describe it all...priceless. Watch the clips and see some pictures to get the flavor of the fever. Enjoy.

Thanks for this post! It's nice to look back on it all.

I get so annoyed, actually pissed, when people bash disco, and the music from the era. I think a lot of people don't think back to what music was like before disco. I can't tag what it was--but whatever it was, IT STUNK!

Disco was finally fun. And for a short while, it seemed to unite everyone. It brought female artists back, and music was suddenly about love and desire. Viet Nam was finally over, and the world seemed to be a peace. When you think about it all, weren't we all better off, and a bit more at ease?

So for all those who hate disco--you just don't know what you missed. It was a time that you know nothing about.
