Wouldn't let the vintage photo of Bud Counts by Bruce of LA slip by me. A truly popular physique model he must have posed for hundreds of pics by Bob Mizer and Bruce. I don't know how they were able to get away with the full frontals they took of him: I suspect these were sold to preferred customers through mail or in "trunk" shows which were held in hotel rooms where invitations were sent to regulars. All physique photographers were constantly under pressure because of ant-obscenity laws and sending pictures through the mail, which the post office would sometimes open, was criminal offense. Customers even got into trouble. Sometimes authorities would break into a studio (house) and shut down the operation, arrest the artist and confiscate photos and negatives to destroy. Heaven forbid a man look at a nude male!
